My figurative work focuses on revealing the moods and feelings of my subjects by their attitude and posture, clothing, or naked skin.
I often outline my subjects with a colored paintbrush and am also attracted to imaginary backgrounds where the richness of fabrics, pleats, and other textures add atmosphere and dimension.

In nature, I have discovered a love, respect, and admiration for trees as a result of the major floods and storms that occurred in Marin County in 2018.
Trees have personalities by the way they appear to converge in groups and relate to each other, as if watching over one another and their surroundings.

In my mixed media works, I layer paper, and apply acrylics, mediums, metallic paints, crayons and wax.
I explore, colors, textures and patterns, incorporating drawings or sketches, sometimes copper or threads.
